The Sustainability Diversity Fellowship Program, a new fellowship program designed to increase Black and Brown professionals in the field of sustainability.

The Sustainability Diversity Fellowship Program is a 2-year professional fellowship program that places early career professionals in a premier global environmental consulting firm, WSP. This program will provide the fellow the opportunity to work with Mid and Senior level sustainability professionals, develop skills and a professional network while providing the support and coaching necessary for the fellow to accelerate their careers in sustainability. Communications and Equity Fellowship openings at solar nonprofit

Solar United Neighbors, a nonprofit that helps people go solar and fight for their energy rights, is hiring!


We've got two great positions open:
  • Communications Fellow: The Communications Fellow will assist with all aspects of the organization’s communications activities and report to the Communications Director. You will have a diverse set of responsibilities as part of a growing team. Your primary focus will be developing and promoting content for the organization’s solar advocacy and educational programs.
  • Energy Equity and Inclusion Fellow: We are looking for an energy equity and inclusion fellow that can help us expand our energy equity work across the country. The energy equity and inclusion department works on addressing barriers to solar adoption. These pilots help us identify barriers, increase awareness and build support for more low-income solar programs.
Both are paid, staff positions for one year with the option to extend permanently as funding allows.

National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition - Grassroots Fellow

The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) is currently seeking a candidate for our Grassroots Fellowship, beginning in August 2021 and ending in May 2022. This fellowship is a fixed term, full time, non-exempt position that offers benefits as per NSAC's employee handbook and is based in our Washington, DC office. 


The Grassroots Fellow will have the opportunity to directly engage in NSAC’s ongoing work on a range of policy issues and campaigns, including climate change and conservation, beginning farmers and farmers of color, local and regional food systems, and agriculture policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Racial justice – an understanding and acknowledgment of historical and ongoing racial inequities and commitment to actions challenging those inequities – is a core NSAC tenet that we seek to embed in our structure, analysis, policy development, and advocacy.

This position will be compensated at a rate of $19/hour.

Fellowship Opportunities for Recent ENSP Grads at CDP North America

 CDP is hiring 2-4 fellows/recent college grads as part of our annual fellowship program that runs from February to September. We are located in NYC but for the foreseeable future are working remotely. CDP is a wonderful organization filled with young professionals passionate about our mission of focusing investors, companies and cities on taking urgent action to build a truly sustainable economy by measuring and understanding their environmental impact.  The fellowship position specifically will work to build relationships with corporate sustainability and investor relations professionals at a range of seniority levels to secure their position and participation in CDP’s programs (Climate Change, Water Security and/or Forests). Most of our part-time fellows secure full-time positions after the fellowship has ended!

This as a great opportunity for recent grads of the ENSP program who are looking for entry level work in the nonprofit sector. Fellowship - Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL)

Legislative Fellow (Fall 2020, Washington, DC / Remote)

Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree. The Legislative Fellow will be a contributing member of CCL’s government affairs team. The primary duties of the Legislative Fellow include helping with research, building relationships with diverse advocacy organizations and congressional offices, and attending congressional hearings/briefings on behalf of CCL. Fellows will become conversant with CCL’s unique organizing tools, and methods, which are designed to empower all citizens to engage in advocacy and outreach work in pursuit of a sustainable climate and healthy democracy. Additionally, fellows have the valuable opportunity to work on the government affairs side CCL work to see how grassroots organizing effectively intersects with policymakers and the other entities that influence them. Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) Fellowship

The Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) is now accepting applications for its 2020 Fellowship! CELI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to developing a new kind of energy leader. Through its growing communities in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Chicago, CELI is working to create a national institution to accelerate innovation, community, and leadership in clean energy. 

Built for working professionals, CELI’s fellowship is held weekly from 6:30-8:30 pm and is taught by influential thought leaders and expert practitioners in the field. Fellows are challenged to think critically about current energy policy and market structures, identify existing barriers to clean energy deployment and innovation and formulate new solutions to ensure equity is central to the transition moving forward. 2020 Directorate Resource Assistant Fellows Program (DFP)

 
Application Deadline: January 10, 2020

The U.S Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) will collaborate with multiple conservation partner organizations to assist with recruitment and administration of over 100 fellowship opportunities for the Directorate Resource Assistant Fellows Program (DFP). The DFP is an 11-week fellowship working on projects that support FWS conservation priorities. The 11-week fellowships begin in mid-May/mid-June 2020 and end in August/September 2020. Eligible students who are pursuing degrees in biological science and/or natural resources management will possess the desired qualifications for the 2020 DFP.

DFP Eligibility Requirements:
  • Student must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a rising senior or senior in undergraduate program or a graduate degree program, and will not complete their degree requirements prior to the completion of the 2020 DFP 11-week fellowship ending in August/September 2020
  • US citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be 17 years of age
  • Males born after December 31, 1959, and are at least 18 years of age, must register with the Selective Service System, unless they meet certain exemptions
  • Cumulative GPA must be 3.0 or higher
  • Must be available for 12 weeks (1-week orientation plus 11-week fellowship)
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Demonstrated interest education and/or experience in fish and wildlife conservation
Benefits:
  • Housing provided in select locations
  • Living allowance– paid bi-weekly.
  • Travel allowance.
  • 1-week orientation at the FWS National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, WV
  • Hands-on experience
  • Fellows may be eligible for a permanent position in the FWS after successfully completing their fellowship and degree requirements.

How to Apply:
Review the list of states that you are interested in working, and apply at the partner organization(s) that is accepting applications for the state(s) you select. If you are eligible for the DFP, the respective partner organization(s) will instruct you on how to apply for specific DFP projects. The projects will be listed at a later date.

There is no limit on the number of DFP projects for which you may apply. This may require submitting an application at each partner’s website. For example, if you are interested in projects located in Connecticut, Alaska, and Alabama, you will need to apply through all 3 organizations, since each location of interest is administered by a different partner.

FWS Directorate Resource Assistant Fellows Program (DFP)


In 2019, the U.S Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) will partner with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) to administer the FWS Directorate Resource Assistant Fellows Program (DFP). The DFP is an 11-week fellowship working on projects that support FWS conservation priorities. Eligible students who are pursuing degrees in biological science and/or natural resources management will possess the desired qualifications to apply for participation in the 2019 DFP.

Eligible students must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an undergraduate (rising seniors) or graduate degree program, and who will not complete their degree requirements prior to the completion of the 2019 DFP 11-weeks fellowship.

The first step is to go now and complete your fellowship application online via the Student Conservation Association (SCA) application portal (
http://thesca.force.com/members/NewRegistration). You must add the application code PO-00727173 to your application. This initial application must be completed by January 18, 2019.

If you have met the initial eligibility requirement for the 2019 DFP, SCA will send you an email inviting you to apply to specific DFP projects throughout the United States and its territories during the open period in late January or early February. You may have only a few days to apply to specific projects, so please keep an eye on the email account used to establish your SCA application.

EcoFellowship Program

The Center for EcoTechnology will begin accepting applications for our EcoFellowship program on January 1, 2019. The EcoFellowship Program is a one-year paid fellowship position to work with CET staff and other EcoFellows to carry out a range of activities related to climate action initiatives and educational programming in western Massachusetts.

EcoFellows support CET’s initiatives to assist residents, students, institutions and businesses across the region in ongoing programs in energy efficiency, home energy services, renewable energy, and waste reduction through recycling, reuse and composting. Fellows are based in CET’s Northampton location and serve communities in the region.

National Coral Management Fellowship
Position Announcements 2018-2020

The National Coral Reef Management Fellowship Program is a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Coral Reef Conservation Program, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs, the U.S. All Islands Coral Reef Committee and Nova Southeastern University’s Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography. The program seeks to build the next generation of coral reef conservation leaders and supports two-year positions that strive to address current capacity gaps, as well as build long-term management capacity in the jurisdictions by placing highly qualified individuals whose education and work experience meet each jurisdiction’s specific coral reef management needs.

The seven jurisdictions where fellows will be placed include: the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Florida, Hawai'i, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. The start date for the two-year positions is January 2018.

Each position has its own distinct work plan specific to jurisdiction management needs and provides training and professional development opportunities. Project work will focus on climate change, land-based sources of pollution and fishing impacts to coral reef cosystems. Fellows may also work to address local needs such as the development of management plans for marine managed areas, engagement of stakeholders in resource management, and development of climate change adaptation plans.

RAY Fellowship Program

Inspired by efforts to increase racial diversity in the marine conservation field, The RAY Fellowship Program is a response to the call for mainstream environmental organizations to work to increase and provide supported career pathways for people of color within the field. The RAY Fellowship Program is a year-long paid fellowship designed to equip recent college graduates with an undergraduate degree with the tools and support systems they need to become leaders in the ocean conservation field; one that fully represents the rich and diverse communities within the United States.

RAY Fellows will be placed within one of our partner organizations (EDF, Greenpeace, NRDC, Ocean Conservancy, Oceana, Point Blue, RARE, and The Nature Conservancy) for a year-long paid fellowship position, with the resources and support to develop experiences that will launch them onto a path of career growth in the conservation field. RAY Fellowships are full time paid positions and include benefits.
