Booz Allen Water Resources Resilience Analyst

A Booz Allen contract is hiring a Water Resources Resilience Analyst to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s water programs and policy development, and the Department of Defense Water Resilience Team. ENSP and other UMD grads have done well on this contract, so I thought I’d share the job description with you in case you know of anyone with around three years of professional experience and/or a master’s degree in water resources management or water resilience looking for job opportunities.

The work we’re doing with this client is exciting! We recently developed the DoD Water Management and Security Assessment Methodology to conduct screening-level water risk assessments at all military installations. This year, we’re writing a script to automate the assessments and developing a Tableau and GIS dashboard to display the results. The Booz Allen team is also supporting the client with water resilience policy and guidance development; water rights policy and issues; congressional requests for information, reporting, and briefings; data collection and analysis; and the intersections of DoD water, energy, and climate change programs.

Here is the link to the job description:  https://careers.boozallen.com/jobs/JobDetail/Arlington-Water-Resources-Resilience-Analyst-R0171404/79323. Please feel free to share this and my contact information with anyone who you feel would be a good fit.  (Contact:  Katelyn Jensen at Jensen_Katelyn@bah.com)

Environmental Specialist - Habitat Conservation
Integrated Statistics

Integrated Statistics is anticipating a need for an Environmental Specialist to work with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NFMS) Greater Atlantic Regional Field Office (GARFO) in Sandy Hook, NJ.
The Environmental Specialist would support the NMFS GARFO, Habitat Conservation Division (HCD). Additionally, HCD works with the Mid-Atlantic and New England Fisheries Management Councils to ensure that Council/NOAA fishing activities minimize adverse impacts to habitats of living marine resources. If coastal development projects or fishing activities have the potential to adversely affect marine, estuarine or diadromous species or their habitat, the HCD undertakes a consultation process with the federal agency resulting in the development of conservation recommendations for the agency on how best to avoid, minimize or offset the adverse impacts of the actions.

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
  • Drafts technical reports and reviews.
  • Conducts and documents site visits.
  • Enters data and conducts quality control reviews.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, conference calls and site visits.
  • Copies documents, compiles records, organizes and maintains filing systems (including electronic filing).
  • Prepares maps and other geographical displays and analysis as necessary.

  • At least one year of work experience in the implementation of Federal rule development and environmental impact statements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and to meet appropriate project milestones.
