Pike Associates, LLC is seeking to fill its Associate Lobbyist position as soon as possible. The firm works primarily in the areas of oceans and the environment, domestic and international fisheries, maritime transportation and trade. Successful candidates should have at least a four year college degree (graduate work/degree preferred), excellent computer and writing skills, and a working knowledge of Congress. Candidates must also be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and on multiple projects.
Associates are expected to work closely with the CEO in servicing and lobbying on behalf of firm clients. General duties include: researching; writing internal & external documents, letters, reports, etc.; policy and political analysis; lobbying Congress and the Administration; representing clients at meetings, receptions, fundraisers, etc.; scheduling for CEO and clients; tracking legislation, working with CEO in developing legislative proposals; some light executive assistant responsibilities. The incoming Associate will also be very involved in managing and coordinating the Fishing Communities Coalition (FCC), a national coalition of fishing organizations representing small boat, conservation minded, and community based fishermen.
In addition to the duties listed above, responsibilities related to the FCC include managing and executing fishermen fly-ins and serving as general point of contact for the Coalition.
