Title: Environmental Specialist
Unit: VPAF - Environmental Safety, Sustainability and Risk

The incumbent will serve as an Environmental Specialist within the Office of Environmental Affairs (OEA) in the Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability & Risk (ESSR), under the Assistant Director of Environmental Affairs. Although the position may support a variety of state and federal environmental permits and programs, the primary functions of the position is the collection and management of biohazardous and universal wastes generated on the UMD campus, as well as providing assistance with the collection and management of hazardous wastes.

The employee performs environmental management functions that require a basic understanding of environmental regulations, as well as maintaining programs, systems, and procedures necessary to comply with Federal and State environmental regulations.
